13: Jack Hunt
A bluff card game from the friends' table, now on your phone. Pass-and-play, bots or online.
What it does
Each hand, you place your pawn straight for safe points or flip it to hunt the Jack. Find the Jack and you score big; miss it and you pay a penalty. You don't need an account to play.
The story so far
Every app goes through the same loop. This is 13: Jack Hunt's, so far.
The MomentStart with a moment, not a feature.
It started at a real table, with friends.
A bluff card game we played around a real table. We wanted the same game, with the same rules, on our phones.
The First BetEvery ask should earn its place.
One phone, passed around the table.
The first playable version needed one phone and the people around it, and no account. Before launch it grew into bots and online rooms, and for Quick Play with strangers the rules moved to our server.
- The game engine came first, in pure Dart with tests.
- Bots at three levels, then online rooms with friends.
- Quick Play matches are checked in Cloud Functions, and the cards stay hidden from the client.
- An anonymous player ID instead of a sign-up.
